WHAT I'M WORKING ON

Reviving an old app

Not even long ago, it would take quite some effort to build an app, let alone multiple. Not many know, but I developed an app for Stocks a few years ago. I stopped working on it because the return on investment was simply too low. It’s currently generating around $100 in Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR), which isn't particularly impressive (I hope).

Yet, the users who installed it liked it. The ones that did buy a subscription renewed it. There’s something in it, so I kept thinking about it. Now, with AI doing a lot more in less time, I decided to give it another go.

Over the weekend, I’ve been able to implement several high-requested features with a few prompts. Based on the solid structure, my agents were able to implement a few more endpoints pretty simply to produce a UI similar to what I already have. I did some App Store Optimization and improved my screenshots using Sketch’s MCP, while I’m also working on adding support for more languages.

Overall, this will cost me maybe a day or two, but it gives me the opportunity to see if it moves the needle. What if it suddenly moves to $200 MRR quickly? What if I could tell users are coming back to the app more often? What if I decide to spend a few more days on it?

You might have an old app out there too. Consider revisiting it, instructing an agent on the side during your day-to-day job. Who knows what it brings? Maybe you’ve improved your knowledge and can now get it off the ground! Good luck 😉
