You have an app idea, but how do you get it to 10K Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR)? I have quite a few ideas and experience, and I already shared a ton of those insights on my going-indie.com. However, the best lessons surface when a reality documentary unfolds.
I’m going to document my journey from beginning to end, from finding an app idea to growing it to 10K MRR. I might kill a project and start a new one, or I might end up with multiple apps in parallel. The goal is to show you how to build a side project successfully.
FREE 5-Day Email Course: The Swift Concurrency Playbook
A FREE 5-day email course revealing the 5 biggest mistakes iOS developers make with with async/await that lead to App Store rejections And migration projects taking months instead of days (even if you've been writing Swift for years)
How reality kicks in
I’ve once had a live demo go wrong at the SwiftLeeds conference. I was worried, because my talk didn’t go as planned and I didn’t meet the expectations. An interesting thing happened, though: attendees approached me afterwards and told me it was the best thing that could have happened.
Why?
Because I had to use all my skills to solve the issue live on stage.
That story has been an inspiration for this YouTube series. I want to document the challenges I surface, the steps I take, and the decisions that bring me closer to the 10K MRR.
- What if an app idea doesn’t work out?
- What if I have a tunnel vision and only realize after months that an idea doesn’t work?
- When do you start asking for money in your app?
I believe I have all the skills, experience, and knowledge to make the right decisions; I just have to prove it to you now.
